VerifiedView

I’m curious how this Verified view stuff works with “Shared Accounts”…How does it handle the stream or events when we have shared the camera to another Wyze account? Does the camera embed the other user’s credentials into our events too so that they can view them, then the stream is set up with “Conditional” authentication for either/or situation where they only need one user’s credentials to unlock the video? Or is it set up to have their account fake send our account credentials to unlock the video? I am really interested how a shared account gets to view our live stream and cloud events when they don’t have our account credentials and the account credentials are embedded in the video itself to require accessing it. Did they address that anywhere yet?

That’s highly improbable. That rules out future shares, unless Wyze retroactively adds to the embedded metadata.

Not to re-hash this but I think this needs to made clear to those that don’t understand technology and just read the word “sharing”.

Wyze VerifiedView ONLY has to do with in-app viewing and sharing.

Outside of the Wyze Application, if you have downloaded the event to your phone (e.g. download the .mp4) and share via RCS text chat, you will be able to share ALWAYS. Just like any other file or picture you’ve ever owned. A downloaded file is yours to share however you like, to whomever you like, whenever you like, until the end of time.

The distinction between in-app sharing vs. in-phone sharing needs to be made because the common user may not understand that 2 different things are happening.

Just ask your questions, we’ll help ya.

Are there any measures taken to protect the hashed key? If hacked and the hashed key stolen, could hacker impersonate and view the video?
