VerifiedView

We have had many, many questions about VerifiedView (formerly called SightSafe) and what it is. I can finally share more about what it is and how it works.

Interesting, thanks for the info.

Question, is there an opt-out capability? I can think of at least one good reason, I want an associate to be able to view my clips.

Well it sure took long enough to copy and paste. Just like firmware update bland post. But you want reviews and sell new products, but don’t fix bugs. Every in this entire forum is always blaming people WiFi. What a shame SHM

Hey my apologies to you didn’t mean to reply to you. I was to respond to the post in general. Sorry. My apologies to you

There is not an ‘opt out’, but it won’t stop you from sharing clips with an associate.

But it won’t allow them to view the clips, either. So what’s the point of sharing?

It will allow them to view the clips if you have shared them. It will not allow someone you have not shared them with view them.

OK, that wasn’t in the description. Better add it then.

Edit, but what happens if the subscription lapses? Will the clips be still viewable? That’s assuming the clips were downloaded to the phone.

This topic actually raises a lot of questions. For example, will that stop people from sharing the clips at YouTube? Or here at the forum?

Ummm… have you tried to update your network to see if that advice is true? I have used Wyze since 2018. I use a 2-node Wyze Mesh Pro Wifi… that changed everything. SOOO much better. Night and Day better.

When I open a camera, it opens. I don’t get lag. Things work.

So, you have to ask yourself, if we both have the exact same camera, why are my results different than yours?

And for my last comment…

Thank you Wyze for finally explaining this and for your commitment to security. I always find it amusing when people see this and they tell you to work on bugs or something else. When, another set of voices demanded you work on security when everything happened.

It just goes to show, you can’t win with people. Just chart your own course, do right by others, and ignore the haters.

Is it safe to say that “VerifiedView” only comes into play when the transaction is occurring with my Video Clips in the Wyze Cloud and the Wyze App or at Wyze Web View?

And thus, once a video has been downloaded onto my phone, “VerifiedView” is no longer in play, and I can do whatever I want with that downloaded video (sharing it, posting it to YouTube, etc)?

Does “VerifiedView” come into play with content on my MicroSD Card?

How about TimeLapse Videos?

People are thinking too hard on this. Once you download this, it’s yours. I tend to put my videos into an unpublished YouTube channel and share from there.

Remember, this firmware is on the cameras now.

You don’t have to guess. Go tinker with sharing and downloading.

I’d be interested to see Wyze actually answer these questions. The downloaded clips are playable right now, but do they still a year from now and the subscription has lapsed? Or if I text them to friends?
