V4: why oh why can’t I download/share videos consistently?

What I see when downloading an event: an error message:

The operation couldn’t be completed.

(PHPhotos ErrorDomain error 3302.)

And then the share sheet shows what looks like an empty file, not an actual video. Nothing to share.

This is ridiculous.

Some others with v4 and the 3.0 app are seeing an error “empty file”, I wonder if your issue is the same (no empty file error but an empty file nonetheless). Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app? If you were upgraded from the 2.5 app to the 3.0 that may help, the fresh install seems to get rid of some of the issues that upgrading caused. Though I’m not aware of anyone with the “empty file” error having tried it yet. Worth a shot.

Also make sure you have permissions for Wyze to be able to access your photos, but if it works sometimes, I’m assuming you do.

NOTE - do not uninstall the app if you are still on the 2.X version. That likely means your device is not compatible with 3.x and you can no longer do a new install of 2.X!!

Yes permissions are granted for photos

Reinstalled app and it’s still the same, think I have the new app (the new app icon)

Frustrating

Not sure if this is related but I’m getting this Device Offline now too, it loads and I see the stream live when I click on it. But it always comes back to this.

Are you on your home wifi (same network as the cam)?

Are both of those cams v4 or only the one showing offline?

I’m wondering if some sort of communication issue via your router or ISP to the Wyze servers from the v4.
