V4 stopped LIVE STREAM on all my android tables

2026-01-13
Wyze V4 does NOT dispaly live stream except on iPhone 3 next gen. Stopped working on my Android Tablets and my iPhone 7. Worked well to after Thansgiving.

I have a V4 camera that just stop displaying live screen. I’ve done ALL the recommended troubleshooting and still can NOT get live stream. The tablet checks good with the seven other cameras I own.

All troubleshooting recommendations have been tried with NO success. I reinstalled everything from scratch. All Wyze, iOS and Android Firmware are up to date.

V4 live stream will work on my “iPhone 3 next gen” and displays 3 bars in signal strength and all the V3’s function well.

My iPhone 7 displays 3 signal strength bars but displays no live stream. All of my android devices display NO bars signal strength. Everything worked well up to a month ago.
My other seven camera’s are V3’s and wyze works well on all of the display devices with any v3 camera selected.

Did you update to the latest firmware on the v4s? If so, you need to be running the latest 3.x version of the app in order to view them, and that version does not work on older 32 bit devices/OSes.

If you want to continue using older devices for viewing you’ll need to manually downgrade the firmware back to the previous version, however that is a temporary measure, at some point the 2.5 app is just going to have too many incompatibilities.

Because of the way Wyze has been doing slow distribution or phased roll-outs of firmware releases for a while, saying that you have “up to date” firmware doesn’t really tell the whole story. If you could share which specific app and firmware versions you’re using, then that’s likely to shed light on the situation and provide an answer for why you’re experiencing this issue.

If you look up the specific firmware versions that your Cams are using and then check the Wyze News category[1] and/or Release Notes & Firmware page, you may find that the firmware you’re trying to use requires an app version that you don’t have. That might be the source of your problem.

what happened between Thanksgiving and Christmas that would cause this problem. One day all is working well and the next day, nada on Android. To me, it’s all around the V4. All the monitors work well with the V3’s, android, iphone 7, iphone next gen 3.

Follow up, when reinstalling the V4 on an android device, all the install steps are SUCCESSFULLY accomplished to the end. Just no live stream.

updates are automatic and up to date. To reiterate, all my V3’s function well on all my monitor devices. Only the V4 does not. And that problem started somewhere between Thanksgiving and Christmas.

And like I said, if you have the latest v4 firmware, it will not work with the old app, which at least some of those devices you listed must be running (they will not update to the 3.x app).

Maybe if you list the app and firmware version you’re running like @crease mentioned it would help confirm, but the timeline fits, the new firmware started rolling out early december.

If you’re using legacy app version and/or 3rd party apps, you’ll want to disable automatic firmware updates and review release notes on any firmware before installing it.

since the V4 firmware update is the problem, can I role it back to when & where everything was functioning well?

Yes you can. Search how to flash back firmware.

Yes, the most important part that the instructions below don’t mention is the SD card has to be formatted to FAT32. Which means either a 32GB or smaller card, or decreasing the partition size on a larger card to 32GB or less. Then put the file in the root of the card named how they say, and follow the steps.
