V4 Notification Issues

I’m having a large issue with the V4 cameras I purchased recently.

I ordered 2 V4 cameras to replace 2 V3 cameras. I set them up and bound them to my cams unlimited plan when I received them.

The settings are the exact same as the other V4 cameras that I own that don’t have this problem. The issue is with detection zone enabled and some zones disabled these two new cameras won’t notify me of people, pets, or packages in the enabled zones. I have restarted both of the cameras. It didn’t make a difference. I have also reset the services. It didn’t make a difference.

Motion detection sensitivity is set to maximum. It happens with Smart Detection Events or All Events enabled. I notice if I disable the detection zones altogether then I start getting notifications again. But with parts of detection zone enabled/disabled I get no notifications. This is not the case with my other V4 cameras. Only the two new ones.

Only thing that comes to mind is perhaps the DZ is too restrictive and not capturing enough of the person/item to identify it?

Suppose something could have happened during setup, maybe pick one of them, delete from the app, factory reset it, and start over? Give it a different name in the app (even if just one character different) so it doesn’t acquire any of the old settings.

Can you post screenshots of the detection zones and the notification page. You posted the events recording page. For notification page is the toggle on and what are you showing when you click on “Manage”? Although the events recording page and manage notifications page look the same, they effect the results.

Detection zones of left side of the yard and right side of the yard. Trying to keep the sidewalks and road out of the detection zone so I don’t get notifications every time someone walks past.

Notification page for left and right camera.

That’ll be a last resort. They’re halfway up the front of the building and I don’t feel like re-centering them after pressing buttons. Oh, and climbing a ladder…

I don’t have a solution, but I really like the combined view you’ve achieved with the positioning and showing them side by side. Nice work!

Thanks! Had to use TinyCam Pro to show the cams side by side and had to position the cams just right so you walk out of one frame and directly into the next.

Instead of “stitching” the views of 2 V4’s, a floodlight V2’s camera would show a view as wide as this. And show the porch, too.

Thanks for the suggestion, but you’re kinda missing the point of this thread.

Well, if you wanna be strict about the thread’s main point, the post I responded to, isn’t about the V4’s notification issues, either.

I wonder if it is the angle, can you tilt them so the picture is straight? My v4 I had to make the base be a little crooked so things were straight (one of the reasons I like the OG mount better as it has some adjustability in it).

Distance may also be a bit far but it should be able to pick up person or vehicle, probably not package though. Vehicle will have to be completely in the detection zone to be recognized I’m guessing.

My V4 will show person when the guy across the street goes to his mailbox.

Not sure what’s going on, but the issue has resolved itself. Notifications are now coming through despite the problems I’ve been having since I got them. No issue for two days now.

I have had similar issues with spotty notification/detection. For some reason my cameras do detect proper events (person/pet) and record them but at certain times they simply don’t give me a notification.

Last night my backyard camera which I had configured to detect pets simply stopped detecting motion. I power-cycled it and when I checked the settings in the app all motion detection was turned off (which I did not manually do at all). It appears every time Wyze updates the app the camera configurations get all bonkers.
