V4 cam won't stop detecting lighting changes

My v4 in the driveway is detecting and recording everytime a car passes the house. I have set the zone to block the entire roadway, but the headlights bouncing off my property triggers the recording.

I have tried to ‘teach’ it that it is not a vehicle, but spy a ‘Lightning change’ a thousand times.. But it doesn’t seem to learn.??

Any suggestions ??

Unfortunately there is no way to “teach” the cam anything. Feedback on vehicle identification will really only help the wyze team’s model learn what cars look like.

Yes the v4 is much more sensitive to headlights than some others. The OG was very good with them, that’s the main drawback I found when I swapped it out for a v4.

Unfortunately unless you can block out the whole area that headlights hit and toying with the sensitivity setting, the only option is really to wait and hope they add the same improvement they had added to the OG to ignore lights. You can try posting this is the “wishlist” category too.

Thanks Dave.. It is very irritating!!

I have the same issue with V4 cameras detecting and sending notifications due to headlights as cars turn onto street

Motion detection relies on the camera sensing pixels changing, and light washing across it will do just that.

I would like to see them roll out the same improvement they did to the OG a year or so ago (which helped a lot with lighting changes) to other cams, but not holding my breath.

You can play around with the detection zone and sensitivity, that helped reduce mine some. You can also set an automation to disable notifications if there are certain times you don’t care about (mine shut off at 9pm and come back on at 8am).
