When I refresh my cameras all the v4 cams go off line and the v3 stay on line. it started 2 days ago! does anyone else have this problem and is there a way to fix it? thanks for any input!
I have not seen this specific issue come up, but I do know we are working on a new firmware with some network stability improvements.
I haven’t noticed this with V4s, though mine are in groups. I have noticed that my VDB V2 has been showing as offline a lot and randomly coming online. When I go outside and press the button to test it while it’s offline, everything seems to be working fine as normal like it’s not actually offline. Only been happening very recently like less than a week. I’m trying to see if there is a pattern or others reporting such things. Your report is the first similar one I’ve seen though.
Can you clarify what you mean by ‘refresh’? Do you mean ‘Restart’?
I have 1 V4 and 5 OGs that are Restarted weekly and they all stay on-line.
There’s a new beta firmware that just got released today for a lot of the cameras, including the V4s.
If you’re having an issue with connectivity, you might consider enabling the beta firmware for those cameras and see if it helps.
I use a iphone and I refresh by pulling down on the screen and it reloads the camera
I went and unpluged all my cameras waited 20 sec and pluged them back in and they work fine now!
I have an automation to reset all my cams once per week. Not only does it clear out any memory leaks or stuck settings, but on the Pan cams it recalibrates the motors when it reboots and puts it back on the exact home position you originally set (then tend to creep a bit over time especially if you have motion tracking or pan/scan enabled).
Some people do it more frequently but I don’t want to add unnecessary wear and tear on the motors (it “bottoms out” on the stops to calibrate). By the end of the week it has only crept a little bit off the home waypoint, but mine is overlooking a large area and doesn’t have to be exact. For more precision, I don’t think twice a week would be an issue. Heck after 3+ years of these cams pretty much constantly tracking motion on a fairly busy road, I’m realizing the motors are a lot more robust than I thought.
Rebooting it also lets your router basically “reset” the wifi connection to it which can help too.
