V3 vs OG bitrate

I noticed that the OG bitrate is about twice that of v3 cams. This results in better sharpness for OG, but I’d think v3 can be configured to use the same bitrate and thus result in similar quality.
I also wonder if the low bitrate is the reason why I often see artifacts in moving objects.

Due to new chip…

The new chip is supposedly faster, but I wouldn’t simply assume that the old chip can’t process 200KB/s. It’s more likely that Wyze wanted to use less storage for the free videos and thus kept bitrate low.

It may also be a result of the new Firmware OS platform Wyze is using to build and run on the new cams.

Remember the new cams push out to the device first then cloud which is about 2 seconds faster,we have a v3,ve pro,og in a group and you can see the difference between all

I have also experienced that speed difference as I have a PanV1, V3, V3Pro, PanV3 and an OG in a group together. But, it isn’t a great direct comparison as none of these are equidistant from the router with matching RSSI or equivilent processors or antaenna.

I was just suggesting that it may be because the firmware for the OG cams was built on a different OS platform than the old cams.

Speed of processing and bitrate are not the same things guys.
You can have a fast CPU and process things quick, but encoding is typically done in hardware ASICs
