V3 movement range

How do I instruct my Wyze V3 to not pick up movement beyond a certain distance (like 10 ft or so) ?

There are detection zones, but there is no setting for distance.

If you can mask the area of interest then you won’t get detection in masked area

You might also experiment with Detection Sensitivity. I have my v3s set to 90. In the picture below, my v3s will sense people walking on the sidewalk across the street on the left and right side of the picture but not in the center near the light pole.

When my neighbors stand by the light pole talking, I notice my v3 does not record an Event until they walk to the left or right. They typically stand to the left of the mailboxes with normal conversation body movements.

For 10 feet out, you might start with a low number.

The sensitivity setting is the only way to do that. May take some trial and error to get it at the right spot.

Obviously make sure the area you want to pick up is not excluded in your detection zone. With all my cams the default 50/60 sensitivity seems to pick stuff up at 20 to 30 feet away. Except the OG Telephoto which obviously is further due to the 3x zoom.

With the sensitivity reading, does a higher number pick up further or is it the other way. I want to limit pickup beyond about 10 ft

It is my experience that the higher number picks up further way. If I lowered my setting below 90, my cameras would not detect people across my street.
