V3 camera glare

In the last couple days, I’ve begun to get a strange glare on the video from my outdoor mounted V4 camera. I have attached the still image of what I’m talking about. To me, it looks like a reflection of some sort. They appear as slightly curved, vertical white lines. Can anyone suggest why this would have suddenly started happening on nighttime videos for this cam only ?

Yes, it looks like a reflection.

Not sure where your located but the season are changing here in the bay area. What your seeing may be the result of condensation, neighbors lighting changing. cobwebs/spider webs, etc etc.

My doorbell v2 sees weird stuff as shown below. You can see 2 small white squares near the roofline that do not exist. A v3pro, mounted 2 feet away does not see this.

I would clean the camera lens, see if it reappears, maybe reposition the camera slightly.

Do the curved, vertical white lines still appear with Night Vision off? That might be a good test even if ambient light is too low to always leave Night Vision off.

Thanks guys. Cleaning the lens did not help.

I’ve turned off the IR lights tonight so I will see if that eliminates the issue I’m having

Personally, I don’t see an issue. I don’t think it impedes the view in any way, but that’s just me.

I guess it’s personal taste. My cams are in windows but reflections aren’t a problem most of the 24 hour cycle.

I have one v3 aimed through a double pane window. I think my neighbor’s porch light is at an angle that causes a streak of light as it goes through the double pane. I can live with it because I still have a good view of my community mailbox to monitor for vandalism.

Here is a video of how the streak disappears when a vehicle drives by.

Is the cam V3 flush against the glass surface? I have a cam V3 aimed slightly down (also a double pane) and the early morning sun creates all kinds of reflections. And the sun isn’t in the line of sight; it’s just too bright.

My v3 in the above video is about 0.5 inch from the inside of the window. The v3 is looking northeast and I only notice some sun reflection during sunrise and sunset of summer months.

Turning off the IR lights solved the problem. However if I really needed them I’d have to deal with the glare problem I guess.
Just to reiterate my cam is outside. No window glare in play.

At that distance the IR lights are pretty much useless in my opinion.
