Using Wyze Plug with Garagwe door opener

Does anyone know if I can safely use my wyze plug with a 1/2 horsepower garage door opener?

The Wyze Plug Technical Specifications limit the plug to a maximum amperage output of 15 amps. If the appliance plugged into the plug draws more than 15 amps, there is a significant chance of overloading the plug and damaging it or causing a fire hazard before the breaker for that circuit kicks out, especially if that circuit is on anything above household 15 amp standard breakers (20A or 30A) which many garage circuits and garage door openers are.

The technical specs of your Garage Door Opener will determine it’s amperage requirements. However, most garage door openers draw significantly less than 15 amps.
