TL;DR: Play music from Spotify when I press the Wyze Switch.
I got the Wyze Switch today, installed it, works great. The thing is, with it having single, double, triple, and press-and-hold, I was imagining using it as a smart trigger - tap it and play from spotify, start a routine, etc. Turns out, the only things that it can trigger (so far) are other wyze devices, via rules. The switch isn’t in IFTTT, and frankly I’ve had issues with IFTTT in the past and don’t want to use it. Google and Alexa, while they recognize the switch, can’t use it to start a routine (to be fair that’s probably on their end, not Wyze’s).
I know this might be a lot to ask for, but is it in any way possible to have the switch (and possibly other “triggering” devices, like cameras and sensors) trigger external products and services? How do devices like Flic do it?
Did you find a solution for this?
BTW the switch is in IFTTT now, but I still can’t figure out how to trigger something external via Google Home/Assistant.
I haven’t, as of now I only use the light switch to control the lights . I don’t have time to play around with every workaround, so until someone else finds a way (or Wyze makes an official way), that’s the way it’ll stay.
I’ll take a quick look in IFTTT though, see if I can figure it out.
Edit:
So you’re right, I can connect Spotify to start playing music or whatever, but no way to connect a google routine or anything in google home.
