You can do that. Other users, such as @trekgod3 and @K6CCC, have successfully done that.
The drawback is that it MUST be on the WiFi network at startup and cannot be powered off during travels or else it will stop recording and not reboot or restart recording until that same WiFi network is available to log back in. If your car has its own mobile hotspot, you are in business.
