TIP: firmware updates using Mac

The firmware update instructions are wrong, at least for the Mac.

says “For Windows 10: Right-click on the folder and select extract all. For Mac: Just drag and drop the folder, put it on the root directory of your microSD card. For both Mac and Windows, rename the file to demo.bin.”.

The downloaded file is a ZIP file, not a folder.

Windows users must “extract” the file, while " Mac: Just drag and drop the folder"

That indicates to me DO NOT EXTRACT. But then the instructions are wrong by calling it a “folder” in the first place.

For Mac users, these instructions are no help at all. In fact, Mac users must

  1. ignore the “folder” description, and 2) then unzip the file for it to be used.

The renaming instructions are correct.

Any of the @moderators or @mavens folks Mac users and have any input on this? My fingers would start to burn if i touched a mac. :slight_smile: #doubletag
