You can also try deleting the cache of the app… also see if you can clear the cache of the entire operating system… that usually helps to fix apps not running properly.

Clearing cache had no effect
Just as angus said, the obvious guess is that it’s using that interval to log in again with Wyze servers to make sure it doesn’t lose access to the stream. Remember he reverse engineered the protocol so it may be suboptimal. Perhaps there is room for a feature enhancement.
Addressing the cameras using RTSP firmware with TinyCam should not replicate the issue.
