Thermostat about to die?

I have the thermostat and it’s been working fine for many years and I think it’s gonna die on me.

Starting last week, Tuesday, I noticed that the app was not reporting in how long the air conditioner had been running, same for Wednesday, and same for Thursday. It’s been over 100 where we are and I know it ran at least 7-8hrs each day.

Then on Thursday, last week, the app was displaying that it was off-line. I even power cycled the unit by detaching it from its power source. No change. However, the HVAC unit was working.

So I deleted the device and had to start all over as if I was installing a new thermostat. I will tell you that was difficult because it was asking questions about wiring, which was done about two years ago and I was not doing this time. So I had to take a guess at most of it.

in any case, I got it installed again on the app and connected to the device. Everything seems to be working fine.

But now the three sensors that I have placed throughout the house are not communicating with it. So I started to add those devices. But the thermostat keeps telling me to make sure that the sensors are close to the thermostat (which I have resting on top of the it, can’t get any closer than that) or to make sure that the Bluetooth is flashing (which it was). I have done all that and the app keeps prompting me to press the “try again” button because it cannot find them. I’ve even pulled out the batteries on the sensors and reseated them in hopes to give it a fresh start, But the thermostat still won’t see them. Sometimes the Bluetooth icon on the sensor will stop flashing and the app changes screens telling me that it’s adding the device, Finally! But then it sits on that page for several minutes at a time (I went 10min one time), then, even on that page, it tells me to make sure that the device is near the thermostat and BT flashing.

On top of all this, even though the sensors are not connected, the HVAC is working fine. However, for the last four days, the app is claiming that the air conditioner ran for 24 hours for three days in a row because when I checked the metrics, the blue bar is to the top showing that it ran for 24 hours, which I know it did not.

Can someone tell me what the heck is going on based on what I described? Is it dying? I was even considering purchasing a new thermostat, but it’s out of stock! Matter of fact, Wyze has 11 items out of stock! What the heck, Wyze? So now I have a thermostat that’s only reading where the thermostat is, which is an incorrect reading as throughout the rest of the house it’s warm, because it won’t connect with my sensors.

Hopefully someone has a solution. I really do not want to have to change to another brand since I already have cameras, doorbell, plugs, and sprinkler controller with Wyze.

Thanks

Ed

@WyzeTeam Please help. There has got to be a better way to get tech support than through forums. See my original post above.

I’m trying to add the sensors again and still no luck. Thermostats is not reading correctly. AC is running constantly and I’m having to manually turn it on and off

My air conditioner turned on at 3:30 AM this morning. And there’s no indication on the Usage screen (Sunday).

Then I manually turned it off around 4 AM. It has been off all day and while we endured the heat, I turned it back on at 6:20 PM. See all screenshots below. I want you to pay close attention to the time of the phone and the amount of minutes left till it reaches the set temperature. Essentially it ran for two (2) hours, although it indicated it only would take three minutes!

And if there was something actually wrong with the thermostat, I can’t even purchase a new one because your company is out of stock on them, and so is everyone else.

What’s Wyze’s solution for its customer in these situations?
