The inability of Wyze Duo Doorbell Camera

I’m curious about what the replacement will be, because I have limited experience with video doorbells and have used only two brands. I don’t have a Duo Cam Doorbell but really like my Video Doorbell v2 (which is not battery powered).

Since you tagged your topic with troubleshooting, I wonder if you’re interested in doing that or if you’ve already made the decision to jump ship. I also wonder if the “C0005 error” you mentioned is like the “-3005” error I’ve occasionally seen with other cameras when trying to connect and if that’s something that will be remediated with the latest beta firmware for Duo Cam Doorbell. :man_shrugging:

Just based on my own experience with my first Wyze camera, Cam Pan v3, I know that its connectivity has vastly improved over time with firmware updates. Using that camera was incredibly frustrating the first few months I had it, because it would go offline, and there was no way for me to correct that aside from power-cycling it (so I eventually routed power through a smart plug to make remote reboots possible). Based on what I’ve read, it seems like Duo Cam Doorbell had a lot of problems when it was introduced, but I think many of those have been resolved via firmware updates (so I hope yours is updated), and I would expect continued improvements to be delivered in that manner.
