Testing a V2 lens in a V3 that had Water in Lens issue

My first V3 on my driveway, mounted on a tree finally succumbed to the foggy lens / water in lens syndrome.

Lasted almost 4 years, most others failed just out of warranty. So this one was slightly better :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

They are supposed to be IP65 but the lens is obviously not

The test location gets some weather

So now with a V2 lens we shall see how long the lens lasts compared to the faulty designed V3 lens

V3-V2 lens swap

The “Torture Test Tree” also has a Reolink Trackmix 4k PTZ

Will update this post when and if either cam fails from weather or something else

Some? I think you are being unfair to Wyze. I don’t think IP65 covers being covered in snow and ice

I wonder how your super camera = Reolink wil fare in the same location.

An IP65 rating means a device or enclosure is fully protected against dust and protected against low-pressure water jets from any direction. It’s a common standard for applications needing protection from dust and moderate water exposure, but it’s not designed for submersion or high-pressure water.

That environment an IP65 rated device should withstand, Wyze has a 1 year limited IP65 rating.
If it fails under warranty only :winking_face_with_tongue:

By the way my V2’s with the add-on birdhouse enclosure never had the lens fail and lens is fully exposed with that type of enclosure.
