System Notifications are turned off -error message

I always have the “System notifications are turned off” yet I have gone to ‘settings’ via the link to do so, and thy are turned ON. What am I missing?

I see this on my iPhone, MAC and iPad

I see this in the Android app when I (intentionally) have notifications for the Wyze app turned off at the OS level. Maybe there’s something else in iOS notifications management that needs checking? (I haven’t used iOS for >10 years, because I haven’t had to, so hopefully an actual iOS user has an answer for you.)

I have checked every possible setting I can think of, and notifications are ON, also, critical alerts are on, but it tells me they are off. I GET THE ALERTS, but this warning comes up 100% of the time. Driving me a little battier than I was already.

When was the last time you rebooted your phone, and what kind of troubleshooting have you done? I’m thinking here of things like

  • navigating from the Home screen to Account ➜ App Settings, then clearing the cache, closing the app, and trying again
  • clearing the cache and then logging out of the app, forcing it closed, then re-launching the app, logging back in, and trying again
  • clearing the cache, logging out of the app, rebooting the phone, and trying again
  • uninstalling/reinstalling the app

Not being an iOS user, I put those in the order of easiest to most extreme, and that’s where I think I’d start with what I know so far. Then again, if you’re experiencing this same thing on multiple devices, perhaps none of that will help at all.

Since I haven’t seen any iOS users comment here yet, I’m going to tag in @habib and @Antonius to see if they have any ideas, because I’m really not the guy you want to be asking about iOS stuff unless you want advice about switching to Android.

This happens on my Droid Tablet, my iPhone, and on my MAC. I have restarted all of them several times, and cleared every cache I can find. I posted this issue up here where others can see it, so if others are having the same issue, we can see the pattern and solve the problem.
Based on this response, WYZE either hasn’t ever heard of this happening, or they don’t want to acknowledge the glitch. Either way, I will wait for the next few updates to the app and see if it gets fixed.
Thanks

Critical alerts overrides everything (Notifications) My iPhone does not have it because it’s to old and doesn’t have Apple AI. Kill all AI .

AI is the real world version ofSkynet!

Did you contact Support? That’s how you get a response from Wyze. It’s important to keep in mind that the Forum is primarily a user-to-user support community.

I see the above only on my iPad and on my Mac as I have notifications turned off on those devices.

On my iPhone I have notifications on and I don’t get that. This is how my notifications screen looks on my phone.

Not really sure why you are getting that. The only thing that I can think of is maybe you have them off in the Wyze app

Also, if you go into Accessibility section on your device, what does it show under notifications? This is what I have on my phone but the other two devices have it off.

Yup

I’m lost, I have no idea why

I believe what I discovered is that even if one camera is switched off for NOTIFICATIONS, that warning comes up no matter which camera I’m looking at.

Would having Notification Center (in your last image) unchecked be the problem? @habib has it checked on his phone.

I’m just guessing as a non-iOS user, but it’s one thing that stands out as a difference.

I don’t think so, but what I noticed is that if any of the cameras have notifications off I always get that error message everywhere. It’s weird.
