When did the Summarize option appear?
I could perform summaries with my phone but didn’t realize it was available at the bottom of the thread.
That’s great for long-winded posts.
Funny. Wrong pronoun.

It was enabled on our forum around Feb 11-12, 2025.
Fantastic. Thanks for the additional information.
I wonder why the feature button and language model generating the summary use two different spellings (“z”/“s”) of the word.
I think I might have changed the spelling. Maybe I used the British version and then changed to US version?
Summarize is a great option.
Now I can better decipher what @peepeep and @carverofchoice are saying.
Almost everything I say is a veiled compliment of some kind. Always assume the best.
Carver thinks he’s more positive than me but he’s not.
How were you doing this? I was able to do this on websites with my Pixel 8 Pro, but when I upgraded to the Pixel 9 Pro XL, that option no longer exists for me I miss it every single day. It’s the only thing I miss about the Pixel 8 Pro I traded in. If there is another way to do this, I want to know. I hate click-baity articles that say something in the title I want a quick answer to but then would have to read 10 pages of fluff I don’t care about just to get a one word answer, so then I just close the webpage with no closure and it drives my OCPD nuts! (hmmm, maybe I know how some of you feel about my comments now
)
Did the Carver just write something? [1]
I’m kinda surprised that gave the summary screenshot post a
!
I forgot, so I had to look it up. I thought there were other ways, but also can’t remember. I didn’t use these features enough.
I love the summarize in the forum. I went back to numerous threads.
Maybe use ChatGPT to summarize.
It’s cool, but I just clicked the in Forum Operations Feedback Thread, and the response didn’t seem particularly helpful. That’s a pretty complex topic to tackle, though, to be fair.
Bummer. Maybe topics are too broad. I like how it summarized @peepeep 's AI thread. I even laughed.
The discussion, titled “Post your dam AI art here and keep it out of the other threads, it’s GROSS,” is about sharing AI-generated art. peepeep starts by posting an image and expressing disdain for AI art, saying it damages the soul. Seapup shares multiple images, which peepeep describes as “HORRIBLE” and says are weighing down the floor.
The conversation takes a humorous turn, with users sharing absurd and playful AI-generated images, including ssummerlin’s image of a car and Crease’s discussion about AI-generated art. carverofchoice shares a video and discusses the limitations of AI art generation.
As the conversation progresses, users continue to share AI-generated images, including Antonius’s request for a design for a raccoon outhouse and ssummerlin’s image of a strawberry-flavored Mountain Dew. The discussion also touches on topics such as the use of AI in art, the ethics of AI-generated content, and the potential for AI to replace human creatives.
carverofchoice shares their experience with various AI models, including MS CoPilot, Gemini, and Perplexity, and discusses their strengths and weaknesses. The conversation also includes humorous exchanges, such as towelkingdom’s joke about Skynet and carverofchoice’s response.
Later, peepeep shares a video, and Seapup responds with an image of a cowbell. The conversation continues with users sharing images and discussing topics such as travel, food, and dentistry. Crease jokes about Wookiee stains, and Antonius shares an image of Vincent van Gogh’s birth record.
The discussion also includes a conversation about eating frog, with ssummerlin saying they would like to try it. Crease shares their experience with eating frog, describing it as having a stringy texture.
As the conversation nears its end, R.Good shares multiple images, and Crease creates a “peepeepized” version of R.Good’s profile picture. ssummerlin comments on the fun and active nature of the AI art section, and R.Good says they cannot change their profile picture.
The conversation concludes with towelkingdom asking about making their profile picture background transparent and Seapup sharing a video that peepeep finds uplifting. Finally, carverofchoice discusses Google’s Whisk lab and shares an image generated using the tool.
Summarized with AI on Feb
That’s kinda funny. The details that the tool “chooses” to pick out and include are amusing: Of all the things the summary could’ve mentioned, it specifically noted “raccoon outhouse” and “Wookiee stains”.
Reading this reminded me of some previous employment positions where I was responsible for documenting meeting proceedings and preparing minutes.
This is a pretty cool forum feature. Too bad you can’t just tell it to summarize a single long post instead of the entire thread.
It would be cool if each post had a “TLDR;” button that would summarize what a person posted in just 1-2 sentences.
Who would ever even do that?!
I’ve included “TL;DR:” notes in some of my posts, but I never considered doing that as a TL;DR: button….
Really, though, it’d be cool if this could accurately encapsulate AMAs. Those get pretty lengthy.
I appreciate the priorities.
I wonder if the summarize feature gives more weight to the highest liked comments or some other way or how it decides which comments to reference in the summary and which to ignore. Does it give more weight to users with a higher trust level, or treat all user comments equally? Maybe it mostly adds something if it is referenced by more than one user?
Just curious.
We should monitor its summaries.
It is funny how it interprets things as funny or going in a different direction.
I forgot we talked briefly about dentistry, of all things. I wonder if “wookie stains” made the AI chuckle.
Yeah, it sometimes mentions things I didn’t even remember at all. lol
