I have Wyze CAm Pan v3 cameras they have the latest Beta firmware 4.50.16.6242 My android app is 3.911

I setup rtsp and create a user and password. I have vlc installed on my pc. When I try to stream the video from one of my cameras VLC cannot connect Can someone clue me in on how this should work ? I sure would appreciate it

Thanks

Upgrade to the latest production firmware, which includes the final release of RTSP.

You should also be running the latest app 3.11.x

Hi Dave27

My app is 3.11.5, Misspoke on my OP. I have only had these for a week or two, They were up to date on firmware or at least at 4.50.15.4800. When I tried to enable rtsp it said I needed to update my firmware. As far as I could tell (limited experience with Wyze products) that was the latest released firmware. So I am confused now. does the Beta not work 4.50.16.6242?

Thanks

6242 is the latest production firmware and supports RTSP. If your cam hasn’t gotten it yet, it should soon.

Welcome to the Forum, @elentz!

I’m trying to understand what you’re experiencing, so I have a few questions:

  • What firmware is actually installed on your Cam Pan v3s right now?
  • Did you follow the instructions on the RTSP Testing page?
  • What does VLC do when you attempt an RTSP connection?

Hi Crease!

The current firmware is 4.50.16.6242, I joined the Beta group. I totally missed th eRTSP testing page, probably will be helpful, huh? VLC comes back with a cannot connect error.

Howdy! Ready for more questions?

  • What URL are you feeding VLC?
  • What specific error does VLC give you?
  • What do you see in VLC’s log?
  • Can you provide a screenshot of the error you’re seeing? (Feel free to obfuscate any credential information you don’t want to share.)
  • Does it look something like what’s in this post? :backhand_index_pointing_down:
