Any progress on what seems a very simple request and feature – the ability to enable/disable rules as a group, rather than one at a time?
Edit rules allow sorting, organizing within the app
Within the app allow rules to be sorted and/or grouped similar to the way we can drag and drop devices. Rules are a powerful tool, but in a long list it is difficult to find rules pertaining to a particular device or related to one another by scrolling and looking by name. I would like to organize my rules in a way that would be logical to me instead of having them listed in the order created. This would save time and make it easier to avoid duplicate, conflicting, or missing functions, triggers, actions. Another potential solution could be on the Device → Edit → Rules display to only display the rules related to that selected device instead of all rules.

Resorting lists
Would like there to be an option to sort the list triggers/schedules in the “Rules” page of the app to whatever order I like.

Seems like wyze could fix this in a couple hours. Annoying having 20plus rules out of order. A good idea should be done now and not wait for hundreds of votes,
Ability to create rule groups and quickly toggle them on/off
I have camera groups that I have various rules created for, would be nice to be able to create a rule group for each camera group. I would like this to go a step further with a quick toggle group rule on or off. Currently I have to manually scroll to find each rule, edit, disable, save, and repeat for each rule. This is also helpful for people with multiple locations. In my case I have several properties and each property has its own camera group and rules.

Coming up on six years now–how hard can this be?
I would LOVE to have this. I have suggested it a few times. I have dozens of rules and it can be hard to find them to make changes when they’re sorted a little chaotically. Drives me crazy sometimes.
And yes, it has been requested a long time and it’s probably fairly easy to do.
However, Wishlist fulfillment isn’t done just based on how long ago a request was made or how difficult it is to do. Unfortunately there are quite a few other variables.
In this case it’s possible it never happens. The total requests for it are relatively small for the length of time the request has existed, which indicates most people don’t care about it, and Wyze has already marked the request as “Maybe later” which means it’s not on their roadmap and there’s a good chance they may never do it. It’s not a priority. But it’s not completely off the table. They will continue to primarily focus on other priorities.
This request being somewhat simple to do despite the low amount of votes is probably one of the main reasons it’s not off the table.
Still, talking about it occasionally is helpful and brings it back to people’s attention and slightly increases attention and more discussion for it. I think Wyze needs to dedicate a portion of their dev budget to little improvements like this. UX (user experience) is important. We haven’t been getting a ton of UX updates lately. They should do more.
I think we the customers need a ‘Wyze Ambassador’ from the ‘trenches’ to represent the viewpoints of the customer base. Someone that Wyze would actually listen to.
I think you’d be perfect for that role. You have my vote for that position ![]()
I won’t pretend to know what it takes to make this happen in the UI, but to me it would be ‘low cost’ easy win for Wyze to make this happen.
And while they are implementing Sorting and Grouping, they could also make to where when could “duplicate” a rule much like Routines can be duplicated in Alexa
I’m starting to get to the point where I think Wyze has lost their way. I used to think that Wyze was different, that they actually listened to their customers. I feel as if that ship has sailed.
Thanks for the kind words.
For what it’s worth, many of us volunteers, including myself, do have some extra access to some employees behind the scenes and there are DEFINITELY some employees that are extremely receptive to our feedback. I wish a lot more was shared publicly, but I absolutely do go out of my way to try to represent the general community to employees when I get the chance. I have even met all the Wyze cofounders in person and had conversations with them about things. I can tell you that for sure Wyze Jason is a HUGE advocate for a lot of the things the community says/shares/wants and he does a great job of making sure much of it is heard and shared to the applicable teams and decision makers. He has huge support from me for all the efforts he makes behind the scenes. There are a lot that I am really impressed with, but of course, none of them can make unilateral decisions. ![]()
Yeah, I would love the rule duplicate option. I was telling some employees not too long ago about how annoying it was for me to manually create a bunch of similar rules for different devices. That’s another story though.
I told them this exact thing last year here:
I’m more optimistic now. I think it opened their minds a lot. They are trying to make some changes, but things are hard/slow. They’re definitely an enterprise level company now, so bureaucracy changes are slow to modify and get people used to, but I see a lot of good stuff.
We’ve had some recent encouraging statements from some employees that they are now making a change to listen to users more. Just in February Matt said this:
He and others have said a lot of similar things recently. I am fairly optimistic about the medium term future. There are so many things they can do better though. I think they are coming to see that they can’t just focus on direct correlation to revenue and need to remember all the small things like improved app and user experience changes since those have secondary and indirect relations to revenue and satisfaction that can be a little harder to measure on charts but are still really critical.
Automation tab layout
Could you add the ability for individual Automations on the Automation tab to be rearranged like the long hold press and drag option on the Devices tab.
It would be nice to be able to group cameras, switches, plugs etc or have the ability to rearrange them if an automation is added later
I’ve argued in favor of some of these things (sorting in emojibetical order[1][2] and allowing easy duplication[3]) elsewhere before and became aware of this topic just today. It gets my vote.
Automations should be made sortable and groupable
I have scheduled automations created for devices in three locations. It is confusing that they sort only by date of creation. It would be great if automations were sortable by name, and groupable by location or as favorites.
