[SOLVED] Getting power to wall mount but thermostat won't turn on. Dead unit?

I’m installing the new Wyze thermostat. I used the c-wire adapter that came with it, and i’m getting 24V AC between the red and white/green/yellow (all three) wires, but the thermostat itself will not turn on. Is this enough to determine that the thermostat is DOA or am I missing a connection ? thank you

Edit: It was in fact the G wire not connected to the C terminal.

Did you connect the R wire to Rc, and the G wire to C on the wyze backplate?

Thanks! that was the issue. I missed the step of connecting the G wire to C terminal.
