I still wonder how many people are going to agree to that and use screws that are too long because they lost the itty bitty machine screws that came with the camera.

that nobody starts any unwanted fires hours after mounting their camera improperly!
I reached out to support about this issue. It seems the first level IT doesn’t know about the issue. I deleted all 4 of my cameras and added them back. Still doesn’t work correctly. They stop recording after 8pm and there is no sound event trigger anymore. I have 13 cameras and had waited so long to get these solar cams. My entire program is basically useless now.

I don’t believe Solar Cam Pan ever had sound-triggered event recording. My understanding of this and other Wyze battery-powered cameras is that the image sensor for recording video tends to be “asleep” until motion triggers the PIR sensor to “wake” the Cam and initiate recording (or until the user accesses the live feed), so events are all based on what the PIR sensor detects, and I wouldn’t expect the microphone to record anything until the image sensor is activated and video recording begins.
