I ve had the Wyze Beta installed for a month and did not work. I have a Galaxy Ultra 22. It started working this morning for me. Just a few days earlier, i uninstalled then reinstalled the beta version and checked the app notifocations but still did not work. This morning, the only thing i did was clear the Wyze app cache and tested , then i did receive the message about “wyze calling” and confirmed that option. Only then did i get the voip call when pressing the button. I hope this doesnt stop working.
The beta works for me with Pixel 7 Pro but only the call. The notification still doesnt work but with the call im kind of happy. I had to clear the Wyze app cache too.
Something odd is happening, I did the Beta switch, I´m getting calls as I should but I have noticed that 2 out 3 times when my doorbell rings my whole Internet goes down for about a minute, no streaming services, no browsing, can´t even see the doorbell video, but after that minute if the button is pressed again, everyhting woks fine and I can even communicate to the person at the door. Maybe it´s just me or something in my network setup I´ll keep investigating.
If your Internet connection drops when the doorbell is pressed, the problem is almost certainly with the transformer that powers your doorbell(s). Those transformers put out low voltage AC and can often be powering multiple devices, including lighting. If you have multiple doorbells, or have any kind of incandescent lighting (e.g. house number placard) on the same circuit, you will need a transformer capable of delivering more current than the 10A that the low end transformers are capable of supplying. If you have a voltage meter, you can test the voltage across the output leads of the transformer, which is usually located in the garage. If it’s lower than ~16V under load then you are almost certainly not supplying enough to the doorbell.
In my case, I replaced the incandescent bulbs on my house placard with LED bulbs and it made a huge difference – enough that I didn’t need to replace the transformer.
If you are having issues with the Push Notifications for your doorbell on specific models of newer OS Android phones, Wyze has been actively investigating why the newer Android Builds and specific models with custom Brand OS Builds are causing this.
Try this:
- Long press hold on wyze app button, select app info (small “i” on top) in the pop out menu.
- In the app info, slide to the bottom and look for a section called “Appear on top” (for Samsung) or “Display over other apps” (for Pixel), and turn that on.
- Go to wyze app, then go to Account - Notifications - Push Notifications - Voice Over IP. Turn that off and turn back on again.
- Close the app and test the doorbell press again, see if you start getting notifications from it again.
The first press might request to enable call from wyze and you may need to press doorbell button few times before it is fully enabled.
I was having the same problem with not being able to receive notification on my phone. I enabled VOIP and I enabled WiFi Calling on my phone and it began to work.
I hope this helps.
It won’t fix it. Give it a few weeks. It’ll stop working again. I finally have up. Wyze products have really gone down hill
I wss originally having issues while on Samsungs Galaxy S22 Ultra running Android 12. I also have a Galaxy Note 10 running Android 10, maybe 11? The Wyze doorbell ring worked on the Note 10. Both phones had the same settings set, to VoIP calling enabled. What fixed it for the Ultra 22 was downloading the beta version for Wyze app. It was a weird combination with android 12, ultra s22, and the the version of wyze at the time that have ne issues. Worked fine fir me after that. I am now using the S 24 ultra without any issues.
It has to do with the 2 different IOS and the Android version
