Sharing live stream/audio and nothing else

Hi Everyone!

I have a rental property that uses the floodlight cam at the front door.

I’d like to give my teneats access to the stream and 2 way communication and no other permissions. No events, no on/off, nothing else.

Is there a way to set all permissions individually and if not, is there a way to share just the stream.

I’d hate to have one of my tenants accidentally turn the camera off or reset some other function by accident.

Thanks!

I don’t believe that’s currently possible, and I don’t know where Wyze might be with developing this kind of capability, but it’s one of the longstanding requests in this Wishlist topic:

I wonder if something like Google Home would be a possibility. With my Wyze account linked to Google Home, I’m able to view most Cams’ live streams on things like a television running Google TV or a TV with a Chromecast HD dongle connected. A Google Home Hub smart display also works. Sometimes some Cams’ streams work in the Android Google Home app, but that performance is inconsistent and seems to vary based on whatever changes Google has most recently made; I’ve read many posts about users being unable to stream their Wyze Cams in the iOS Google Home app, but it’s been a while since I’ve seen reports about that, so I don’t know if that’s been resolved. (I don’t use iOS, so I don’t regularly track those specific issues.) I don’t have any hands-on experience with any of the Wyze Cam Floodlights, so I can’t speak specifically to the model you have.

I’d also wonder about other third-party solutions to stream a single camera. Maybe something like tinyCam Monitor Free would work? Depending on what Wyze does with their work integrating RTSP support into some Cams’ firmware, that could open up other possibilities in the future so that you could allow tenants to just access the RTSP stream.

Now I’m interested in learning what other community members might suggested for this situation. Good question!

How about mounting a cheaper camera like a v4 next to the floodlight? Your tenents could add the v4 to their Wyze account while you keep full control of the Floodlight since it remains on your Wyze account.

Even thought a v4 is around $29 dollars you could add to the rental agreement the v4 stays on the property when the tenents leave.
