Service Advisory 02/16/2024

Now everything is back to normal for me including Person and Motion Event Tagging. I did unplug one problem v3 for 15 seconds, cleared App Cache and restarted both my iPad and Android devices for everything to be happy again.

This is a major safety issue, Offline in Canada I just got my electrician to install my new Wyse 2 days ago… Frustrating is this how Wyze treats their customers ???

Thanks, appreciate you responding

Too intimate (hot seat)

Hey, that worked! :+1:

Also populated the Events List (coincidence is causation!) ! Woohoo!

Shouldn’t you be using standards?

All of my cameras except two Cam Pan v1’s are online.

CORRECTION: All cameras operational after power cycling the last two. Thanks to Wyze for resolving the outage.

Everything has been working for me for an hour or two. I even setup 3 new cameras after getting the others back.

My cameras are back online but I no longer have any events saved in the cloud seemingly. App version 2.49.3 (339) Android on Pixel 7.

I can still see the thumbnail show events but there are no events listed under the events tab. I did I review of my events yesterday so I know I have quite a few from the last 14 days.

Came here to say the same - Every Event Gone.

I had that issue on one of my V3 Pros (my main camera), and I got out and back in, and they populated! I would have been disappointed if I had lost ALL the day’s events.

I had to delete and re-add a BR30 bulb, so that is all that has inconvenienced me so far during this Feb 2024 outage.

Spoke too soon.
All Events Gone Again from both of my critical cameras.
Hopefully it is just a temporary glitch.

Same here… all gone. They must be working on events. Hopefully the events will be back soon.

Why does the app immediately cease to function when there is an internet problem? If the cameras can record 24/7 why is there NO local mode at all?

It’s the only app I have that does this and all the others will just say ā€˜there’s a problem with your internet connection’, or something similar.

I had to power cycle my Pan V1 to get it back too, and delete/re-add a BR30 bulb.
If they can get the missing events back for the cameras that would be nice.
Hopefully my events come back to the app and not someone else’s.

Maybe they learned something from this outage.

2/16/2024 11:28 AM PT - Our metrics are showing continued improvement for device connection recovery. If your device is still experiencing the issue, please try rebooting or power-cycling your device. We are temporarily disabling the Event tab in the Wyze app to investigate a possible security issue and will have it back up soon. We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your continued patience.

I tried to power cycle my one V3 that will not connect and it did nothing to fix the issue. The V3 is sitting on the router and won’t connect. I tried to add it with the set up again and it just timed out after reading the QR. I have not done a factory reset or removed the cam from the app. The other 8 cams are all working.

Good luck, Antonius. Hopefully with continued system ā€˜recovery’ comes full healing. :stethoscope:

I’m curious to see if this Rules anomaly will cure itself without any intervention.

Even though disabling the Event tab in the Wyze app to investigate a possible security issue was done, I STILL have access to some of this info via THUMBNAIL SHOW & TIMELINE–so what’s the difference?

Not complaining they had an issue. Just that I didn’t get a ā€œhead’s upā€ email about it. Because even my credit union way out here in the boondocks does that.

Products? First rate! Reliability? First rate. That’s why I’m disappointed.

Are we pretending other big tech companies have never had major outages that lasted hours? Should they communicate better and be more aware of major outages? Most definitely. But you bought into a cheap ecosystem to get a more expensive service on a budget, don’t be surprised when they have some hiccups.

what is status of hubs/sensors all show offline but ive been getting alerts got 3 + as i type…

Nope i am not power cycling a thing till more data is provided.

Cams have been online here, just one plug and all the hub/sesors… OFFLINE.
