SDCard isn’t recording continuously. I have to unplug or eject. Is there a reason it doesn’t stay connected to the SDCard?
What exactly makes you think it’s disconnecting (if that were possible)? Because you can’t see the SD card recording? Because the, “Playback” button is no longer there?
Welcome to the Forum, @ibelieve!
Describing your problem and any troubleshooting steps you’ve attempted in more detail would be helpful to others within the community who wish to assist. One such important detail would be sharing what camera(s) is/are affected by the issue you’re experiencing. Certain camera models have been reported to have microSD recording/access issues, but I don’t recall seeing those specifically with Cam OG or Cam Outdoor (the tags you used when you created your topic).
I have a CAM OG outside that stops recording. I unplugged the camera, inserted the SDCARD and plugged it back in. It was recording, however, a little bit later it said no SDCARD and I repeated the steps again. It said there was no SDCARD and yet it’s still in the camera. It happens on both cameras and the SDCARDS are brand new.
I have tried going to the SDCARD to view the video and it says there is no video available.
How exactly do you do that, is the question. Because the user interface has changed (for the V3), and there are people complaining they can’t see their SD card clips. Just making sure, that you’re not having the same problem.
Have you checked your SD card status in diskmanagment? If not, then connect it to your computer and check its status in Disk Management.
Also, I would suggest formatting it and then reinserting it in the camera. This small step will fix this disconnecting issue.
Ahh, this is an old bug that has plagued various Wyze cameras at different times. Make sure that you have an updated firmware and app.
What brand SD card and where did you purchase them from? Recording for a while then stopping is a possible sign of a counterfeit card, they are extremely common on amazon, ebay, and other marketplaces.
One way to tell is put it in a PC and do a full overwrite format (you can use the utility from sdcard.org or anything that will overwrite the whole card). If it stops part way through, the card is faulty or fake. You can also copy large files to it and try to fill it to capacity, usually they’ll stop around 2 or 8 GB if they’re fake.
What indication did you have that the camera was recording to the microSD card? I’m still trying to understand what you’re experiencing, and more detail would be helpful. For instance, did you see that space on the card was being consumed when you navigated from Cam OG’s Live Stream screen to Settings ➜ MicroSD Card? Did you see a vertical green stripe (solid for Continuous or interrupted for Events Only recording) on the microSD recording timeline? When you removed the microSD card, did you try inserting it into a PC to see if recordings had been written to the card?
More detail about the particular cards you’re using might be helpful, too.
