Do I still need a subscription if I use an SD card for continuous recording?

The short answer to your question is “no”. You don’t need a subscription for Cam OG to continuously record to microSD, and this is how I use all of my Wyze cameras (so far). A Cam Plus (or higher) subscription can offer other benefits (AI-enabled detections, backup/cloud recordings of your events, etc.), but those aren’t features I’ve been especially interested in, and lots of others here use their cameras without subscriptions.
