My tailpiece was too short to work out of the box. Called support and they said unfortunately you will need to her a refund. Instead I went to my local hardware store and got a longer tailpiece and modified it by grinding it to the dimensions needed to insert into the lock adapter. See attached pics. Hope this helps those with thicker doors or tailpieces that are too short.
