Fair. I would definitely love a lot of the detection entities to be added. Honestly, would make a lot of sense for them to include those because then it would be an incentive and reward for those who actually pay for their subscription to get extra benefit of having those things in home assistant because they continue to pay for the subscription. But, it’s not the end of the world for me if they don’t include the AI. Detections, because at least with the video stream I can use frigate to make my own if they won’t let me use the detections from their subscription. What? I am more highly anticipating for extra entities that come through channels like mqtt would be other controls for the camera such as PTZ controls, power on off, motion detection on off, spotlight on off for the cameras that have spotlights, notifications on off, night vision on off, IR lied on off, and maybe a bunch of other settings. Those are all things that I can’t use another workaround for such as I can do with frigate to make my own detections. So I would strongly hope that they eventually plan to add some of those entities to broadcast locally through mqtt or something similar. That would be very useful. But I agree that it would be really smart of them to also do it for motion detections or AI detections to encourage people to just use subscription cloud. Detections and be able to use those in home assistant. If they did that, there would basically be no reason for me to consider haydon any cameras from a company like Reo link because Wyze would include everything I care about getting in home assistant.
Yes, the others you mentioned were assumed a yes.,![]()
Guess I shouldn’t assume though. All they have to do is rework SecKaties integration, after payment, lol.
And that could be the API perhaps with a little work, emukates the app.
My test Reo camera has animal, person and vehicle resident on the camera, all others are also in the integration. No cloud. Local only. $80.00±
I’m willing to pay Wyze more for a complete picture in Home Assistant. Including Cam Unlimited. They won’t lose money. Others opinions on cost? TMMV and object perhaps.
I’m 71, I can’t wait much longer. ![]()
Also for the v4 en pan v4?
Or any idea when?
But ask yourself this:
Where is the rtsp video coming from? The V3 or the app? That isn’t clear. If it’s coming from the V3, that’s fine. But if the app is transcoding the video from the V3 to rtsp, then worry about your phone’s battery.
It’s coming from the camera.
Confirmed by someone who already set it up on Home Assistant.
Which makes sense. If the app was doing it then they wouldn’t need to have a special firmware for the camera models, they could just do what Tinycam does instead and it would immediately be launched for every camera model.
RTSP firmware loaded. camera still shows on prod app and beta app. weird bug where rtsp feed is active while camera is turned off in the app. the camera turning itself off in the app is random and i am not doing it (already reported it)
As an Android user, I’ll wait for the Android version that doesn’t crash.
But I just wanted to chime in to say thanks for developing this feature. RTSP will be hugely valuable to me.
I am going to post what competition offers in terms of local control. I understand this is higher end cameras, but if wyze is all about disrupting the market…adding these things in their current price range of cameras would certainly do that. RTSP is a start, and the road ahead is long, but we mustn’t stop here with just that. If these other things can get added, this opens up the possibility for home assistant and beyond.
This is excellent news. The lack of RTSP was a major disappointment when I bought my first Wyze cam and I have steered away from them ever since.
I am a bit anxious about switching as it took considerable effort to get my V3 integrated into Home Assistant and Frigate and I don’t want to break the integration.
If, when the android version is out, can the firmware be rolled back should I have any insurmountable problem.
I am waiting for the Android version but did you have any problem getting it into Home Assistant. I have V3in HA using Docker Wyze Bridge and Frigate and I would hate to loose that “integration”
Was there any difficulty setting up the RTSP feed in HA?
Thank you @WyzeDave for this! Really excited about trying it out.
It’s just the same as adding any other feed. No issue.
How can i test with the V4 and Pan V4 ?
Also want to test inside Home Assistant and Frigate ![]()
So, in the beta app on iOS, when I try to add a camera the listing is blank.
Do I need to uninstall the production app?
Do I need to sign into the beta app with the same account?
I think the instructions are in PDF @WyzeDave post at the top of this thread. In his Google drive.
Yeah, I have the PDF etc. Unless it’s been updated since I originally got it. THe beta app is loaded, but the add camera list is blank.
I don’t know the answer could just be Beta release bugs Android doesn’t even work yet, bugs.
In case this is not yet reported, I am unable to set up RTSP using this first version of the android app. I can get to the RTSP setup page, continue to the RTSP Username screen, but after setting a username and selecting “Next”, the app returns to the RTSP setup page without any error feedback.
Had to add the camera via the Production app and then look at it in the Beta app to configure the RTSP. Currently running it through Scrypted and then into HomeKit. Seems to be working good, but does not able to configure it with HSV.
