Roku Smart Home

I just ran into the Roku Smart home app and low and behold the app and devices are identical to wyze. What’s the deal?

Apparently Roku partnered with Wyze to sell many of the same devices branded under Roku. Unfortunately, you cannot use Wyze products with Roku or vice versa, even though the hardware is essentially the same.

I would love to be able to view my cameras on my Roku.

I did try installing the Roku Smart Home app on my mobile device, but there’s no way to connect it to any Wyze devices.

Same here! How cool would it be to take a Roku Express or Streaming Stick with you when you travel and be able to check your Wyze cameras on a larger screen while you’re away? (Can a Roku player even do that currently with Roku cameras when not on its home Wi-Fi network? I don’t know, but it seems like it’d be a cool feature to have available.)

I can stream my WYZE cams to my Roku device hooked to my TV from my iPad or phone. :upside_down_face:

I can do that if I’m using a mobile device’s casting/mirroring feature, but it seems to be device dependent:

What I think would be even cooler is regular device control with a “native” app (i.e., “channel” in Roku vernacular) running on Roku OS so that an intermediary (phone, tablet) wouldn’t be necessary.

Thankfully my new LG TV has Alexa built in, and I can say “Show [camera name]” to it and the video displays. I’m still trying to figure out the picture-in-picture functionality or multiple cameras on the screen.
