The Amazon battery just has that reverse polarity (I think, not confirmed) issue. So a multimeter should let you check that, compare pin-out with the original battery.
Here is the pin-out & voltages for the original battery…
- Red is positive 16.28v (4.07v/cell) in reference to the black and white wire. The voltage will vary, the max is 16.8v, the minimum about 12v.
- Black is assumed to be negative/common wire.
- White is assumed to be a signal wire that is “pulled-low”.
- Since Black+White is 0v, I can measure the resistance, it was 9 kΩ.
