It’s amazing what can happen during the course of 8 hours.
At 8:30 this morning, RobinCam 1 had nothing. (First video.) At 4:15, there’s a nest. (Second video.)

The Robin is probably a Development Contractor and not a Government Worker.
Hey now, don’t be talking ish about us government workers.
Mrs. Robin has been staying on the nest for a couple of days now. So I should be seeing little beaks poking up above the nest in about 10 days.
Mom’s get to have all the fun.
My bluebirds do that wiggle shuffle butt thing too. Trying to get a circular shape to the nest. Would love to find a way to get a camera under the nest to catch that action and also moving the eggs around.
Well, the robins flew the coup. I noticed yesterday that mama robin wasn’t sitting on the nest. I thought maybe the eggs had hatched and she was getting worms.
This morning she was off the nest again and thought that was odd. I checked the events screen and 4 clips like this.
I checked the area beneath the nest and found shell fragments. Not sure if she was chased off by the sparrows or something else. Maybe the sparrows will take over and raise a clutch of their own.
@#$%&*! Squatters.
I looked at yesterday’s events. Everything seemed good early morning. The male even brought food to the female.
But starting just before noon yesterday, the sparrows mounted their takeover. There are 2 events that show the sparrows flying off with egg shells. (See video.) But the mama robin came back and stayed on the nest until at least 1:34. There are no more events until today.
Sparrows are an invasive species and will take over nests. I had a sparrow peck at a bluebird egg then removed it from the nest.
Researching how to keep sparrows out of nests, I found a Sparrow Spooker. It is just mylar strips suspended above the house. This is put in position after the first egg is laid. If it is placed before the first egg, mom won’t enter the nest. But if there is an egg in the nest, she’s not letting that thing stop her. Sparrows hate it and stay away.
Thanks. But as you can see from the video, the robins built their nest on top of the gutter downspout, not in a house. I don’t think robins use bird houses, but I could be wrong.
There is not much room above the top of the nest, but I’ll if I find some Mylar for the next time.
You are correct. But a sparrow spooker above a robin’s nest might deter the miscreants.
