Requesting input

So looking to get input on what you guys think of the cameras, mainly the subscriptions and non-subscription data stored and the facial recognition/friendly faces/person detect before I make a decision on what camera system to purchase. any input about Wyze good or bad so be honest it would greatly be appreciated. On my Amazon account I make sure I do all my reviews and I put honest information no matter if its negative or positive. thank you in advance.

Can you share more thoughts on your needs and wants for cameras?

  1. Are you okay with paying for a subscription to get increased functionality or is a no subscription plan good enough for you.
  2. Are you needing outdoor battery cameras or cameras that can be plugged into an AC outlet?

I use Wyze Cam v3 cameras and am grandfathered into a Lite plan. All of my cameras are inside windows looking out.

As you can see in the Top Left picture, i do get some reflection when the sun hits my window from a certain angle.

As @StevenA said it depends on your needs. I run all my cams with no subscription and only the MicroSD card. I use positioning, detection zone, and sensitivity to minimize false alerts. But for some they really want the person/pet/package/vehicle detection. Just be aware that obviously those detections aren’t perfect.

Personally I wouldn’t want to rely on it identifying something and then recording it, I want 24 hour video so I can go back and find something if I need to. So even if you subscribe, I would still use the SD card as a backup.

The cameras work great for my needs, but you have to look at the price point of the cams, and know that they won’t be the best of the best, but they’re also far from the worst of the worst.
