these 4-5 (and even sometimes 6) minuet recovery times between the cam detecting motion, are ridiculous. this renders all of my wyze cam absolutely useless for any kind of security. i have a situation where by my next-door neighbor is a chronic alcoholic and crack addict. if a leaf blows by just b4 …

You get full monitoring with a $15 SD card. Not that hard to figure out. Plus, their charge for the cloud is very cheap. I see no problem.

Agree with kjay , Pay the little extra for continous coverage and use 2 or 3 cameras per scean. if your living under siege with crazy neighbors. i use 5 cams and each partially covers the rest. so if tour Wyze Cam is in reset mode the other another Cams captures the crime.

I am surprised at the acrimony expressed in some of these comments. You bought a $20 camera that does a whole lot, and into which you can insert a cheap micro-SD card which continuously records so you can see whatever event you want to see. If this isn’t satisfactory to you, then perhaps you need …

I don’t have a problem with the “cool down” period between cloud transmissions because I have SD cards in all of my cameras. However, watching long stretches of video stored on the card would be easier if there were a fast motion view option or a “jump ahead” feature (say 12 seconds). With 12 secon…

I agree that wading back through the recorded video is a bit cumbersome when looking for specific events. Once again, this is not a camera problem, but most likely could be improved in the software.

[Mod Edit] Perhaps move away from the neighbor or get ‘live PD security’ involved MOD NOTE: Post edited to conform to the Community Guidelines .

I take out the sd card and use Windows 10 Video editor. Each of the saved files is about 60 seconds long. Start playing it and put the mouse pointer on the moving dot and you can zip right through each one as fast as you want. you can also edit the video, to shorten it, add comments, and then make a…

When I playback from SD it does jump ahead to the next recorded event. If there are no more events, it stops and states that. Occasionally it will hang at the end of a recording, but not very often. But there is no ‘fast forward’ during playback, if that is what you are asking.

I understand Wyze needs to minimize the data transferred to keep server costs down. Perhaps as a compromise the cameras could still track motion events during the cool-down period and send just the times to the server. These events would not have any attached video and should be of insignificant siz…
