Recording when motion detected

When motion is detected, I get the notification on my phone ok.

But it seems like the start of video is delayed from when I expect motion to be detected. For example, the video would start when the person is already at the front door, instead of seeing him walk up to the door.

Does the camera record motion immediately when motion is detected, or is it delayed for some reason?

I can understand a few seconds delay in receiving notifications when connecting via WiFi, the internet, etc.

Any ideas ?

Is this an Outdoor Camera? Normally, the v2 & V3 cameras buffer a few seconds to show you what led up to the event. If you are using a Outdoor Camera, it has to wake up before it can start the clip.
