Recent Wyze App Waypoints are Way Off

For my Cam Pan V3 The thumbnails are correct, but when I click on any waypoints, they are way off. This started happening with the current V3.4.5 on my Android phone.
I redid the waypoints in settings and saved them, but still off. Is this a known bug?

What you’re describing seems to have been mentioned recently here:

I’m seeing it on a Cam Pan v3, as well. Tapping Waypoint 1 appears to no longer do anything. Tapping Waypoints 2 & 3 makes the camera point at different spots on the ceiling, which ain’t right at all. (This camera has always been indoors and has had 3 Waypoints set for well over a year.) Recalibrating has no apparent effect.

If you haven’t already done so, then I’d suggest submitting a log and following that up with creating a ticket.

I wonder if your topic would get better visibility if you added a cam-pan-v3 tag (and possibly changed the category to Cameras), since what you’re describing seems to be specific to that camera.

Happened to my cam V3s, too, last night; all the previously set waypoints were erased and I had to re-set them.

Wyze must have pushed something out because the missing waypoints have been set months ago.

Yeah, mine are all hosed right now—the same Waypoints I’ve been using for well over a year. They’re functioning as expected in the v2.50x app, so I haven’t blown them away yet, but the current production app just pukes when I tap any of them. I submitted a log and opened a ticket.

Yeah you have to delete and re-add them to make them work in the latest app. Then they’ll stop working in the 2.5 app. Happened at the same time they added strict enforcement of not being able to have DZ and track motion enabled.

EDIT I only have waypoint 1 set (so I can quickly put the camera back “home” after moving it manually). Can’t comment on additional ones and whether deleting/re-adding them works or not. But it did fix my Waypoint 1 not doing anything when tapped.

This is what Wyze is telling me in my ticket, but I’m reluctant to do that because I still use the v2.50x app on my primary phone.

My own experience and what you’re describing makes me wonder if Wyze has decided to do something “special” with the primary Waypoint, but I’m not yet ready to try nuking that on my one Cam Pan v3 that’s otherwise behaving. When I take the time to do additional troubleshooting on my problem child Cam Pan v3 (the one that’s having microSD recording issues), I’ll probably play with Waypoints on that, because one of my next steps for that camera is going to be a factory reset anyway.

Because so many app features seem to be so heavily-dependent on the backend, I wonder where the change actually happened. Things like this make me feel like they’re doing things on a whim without actually planning, testing, and considering potential consequences, and that’s the part that really frustrates me.

Ditto here. The most recent Android app update hosed my waypoints. Fortunately I only have 2 Pan 3’s. Deleting then resetting the waypoints seems to have solved the issue. You’d think Wyze would have tested these functions before posting the update.

Yeah, from what I can tell, if you set a waypoint in the 2.5 app, it only works in the 2.5 app, and same for the 3.x app. They are somehow different now. At least waypoint 1.

I did not see any app update on the day I noticed it starting (or a day or two prior) so it does appear to be back end related.

Exactly… that’s what Beta testing is for. Deleting the waypoints and reaetting them from the advanced settings menu fails. I had to redo the waypoints from the home page clicking the pencil icon below each camera. So far that works
