I have four battery cam pros, one of them was not on a solar panel. I bought four of these panels and hooked them up to three of my cameras
Three of my cameras within a couple weeks have died. One of my cameras is still on a solar panel and working fine. When one of my cameras died that was on the panel I removed the camera from my back yard that was not on a solar panel and in a few days time that camera died as well.
Is there a possibility these panels are to blame? I contacted wyze and they were going to swap them out but of course no receipt so they wouldnât . I hate when companies do this, stand behind your products and donât try and use a technicality to get out of it! Samsung and Apple both will honor a warranty in my experience regardless!
Anyway after talking to customer service and then checking things they were assuming my cameras were dead.
Have you tried reseating the plug? I found if it is not plugged in all the way, the charge is not going to be optimal and you will experience battery drain. In the past, I reseated mine and have had no issues with Battery Drain since.
Also, you may want to check your settings to make sure it is optimal for battery cameras. Meaning, if you have an SD Card in the camera and set for Continuous recording, the battery will drain quickly. I am not sure if the solar panel will keep up with the demand.
Yes I have check the plug and swapped batteries. I donât leave my cameras on record all the time and the one that is still working usually stays fully charged, the others did as well when working
Are the Solar Panels in use the ones Wyze Sells? Or are they the ones you showed above?
@mclldavidson - You did yourself a disservice buying these cheap solar panels, especially when there is a statement in the printed info that specifically states not compatible with Google, Arlo, Blink and Wyzw (with that misspell in it). Always read the descriptions entirely with an item such as this. Most solar panels will indicate the compatibility with battery cam brands. Unfortunately, you missed with this and caused your own problems. Sorry to be so harsh.
If the panels are still returnable, do so immediately and get a better quality 2for set of panels. Maybe you can revive the cams by using the charge cable and power adapter or try a factory reset as suggested by @spamoni. Perhaps the batteries are damaged and new batteries will be needed to get the BCPâs back. Try to recharge the batteries outside of the cam and if available, use a multimeter to measure if there is voltage available from the battery.
Good Luck!!

It is saying not compatible with plug in cameras without a battery, it is just a standard solar charger and works fine . My concern with it is maybe the 6 watt might be too much compared to 5 watt but I donât really know if that would matter just an idea
Unfortunately, you read and misinterpreted that statement wrong, it states " . . . and cameras without a battery. The preceding listed was for cameras with a battery." The 6 watts is not too much and would not harm the camera which only indicates what is needed to maximize the solar panel storage output capacity. The voltage is more significant than the watts which is 5v.
