I suppose that if “hard to please” means not settling for less than what a product is advertised to be, and/or deliver, then I am. As a small business owner myself, I simply refuse to accept less than what a product is advertised to be. I’m not at all trying to be “hard nosed”, but, as a consumer, will admit to being totally fed up with paying money for products that simply do not meet the advertising claims. While the concept of these cameras in itself is brilliant, the execution and business aspect seems to have been planned and handled rather poorly.
Yes, I am willing to give them another chance, but over a period of a couple of weeks, I have checked the website nearly every day, and the order/delivery verbiage changes regularly. To me this indicates a rather “haphazard” approach, which in turn indicates a business that may or may not be here in the future.
I would suspect that any sensible person, who has had issues with their initial purchase/products from any company, would be equally cautious.
I ordered on Feb 20, when will i be getting my Wyze cam based on new delivery timelines…
I am an engineer and i totally understand the delays and defect in production which can happen to any company. Samsung screwed up with Note 7 and Iphone with battery issue on upgraded OS. People are still buying Samsung and iPhone. The good news is that we all will be getting a free cable.
I’d say at least three weeks
Ordered 3 cams on 23 February - anyone have an idea on ETA?? Really needed a camera solution and didn’t realize until after I was notified that the order would be delayed. I get it, but pretty uncool.
Thanks,
Patrick
Got the following today:
It was a busy week here at Wyze Labs. I promised that I would give you weekly updates on your v2 order. Sorry for being a few days late.
In the past couple of weeks, we tested 4 methods to clean up the dust particles on more than 7,000 sample units. The end result was promising. The leading method will be put to production at scale this week. Of course, we’ll keep monitoring the output to make sure the increase in production capacity doesn’t compromise quality.
At this point, I can tell you we’re confident that we’ll be able to start shipping your orders, along with the extension cable bonus, in the week of 4/2. All orders placed on or before 3/1 will be shipped before 4/16. There’s a good chance that some of the orders will be shipped out sooner, and if that happens you’ll be the first to know as you’ll receive a confirmation email as soon as your order ships.
I understand some of you may prefer to cancel your order due to the shipping delay. If so, please feel free to email cancelorder@wyzecam.com with “Cancel [Order Number]” as the subject line, and we’ll refund the full amount of your purchase right away.
Thank you for your continued trust and patience.
