Please bring it back!

I think so, too.

I don’t have any information about this, either, but they apparently continued making and selling Cam v3 even after Cam v4 was introduced, I imagine because some accessories work only with Cam v3. I don’t think the Cam OG line as a whole is going anywhere because of the updated model they introduced last year, and then they launched Window Cam, which appears to be based on the newer Cam OG’s design. I don’t know anything about the original Cam OG Telephoto’s recent availability, and I’d be interested in learning whether or not they’ll update that one.

I have one pack that I’ve never used & probably won’t use. If you still can’t find one, I’m willing to sell it to you. LMK.

I bought a new power USB adapter and a new power 25ft adapter, for if that doesn’t work.

It’s too cold for me to go out and try them.

In the mean time the mail cam is giving my this..

Thank for your offer geo. I’m gonna try to make it work at the moment.

That looks more like a connection issue, but I think you need to differentiate between SD card and cloud clips, and also how you’re viewing them (app, web view, etc). All of those can be affected by connection issues but in different ways.

You may end up having to pull the SD card and put it in a PC to see if the clips are good on the card itself, which would narrow it down to a connection problem.

Very good idea. In a couple of days it will be warm enough to leave the house and do that

After reading about your not finding any OG Telephoto cams available, I googled around and ordered 3 from Temu. I wasn’t sure I’d ever receive them but today I got an email telling they’d been shipped. I checked their site today and they still have the camera listed but show it as almost gone. They indicate that they are shipped from Wyze. I might not put them into service right away but I’m happy to know I have backups if my existing ones quit working. You are right that they serve a unique place among Wyze cameras, I also use mine to view my mail box too, among other things needing a close-up view. Good luck finding some for yourself.

Thank you for the tip, bluestar!

I found one on Temu as well.

I installed a new USB power block and if that doesn’t work I’ll order a new camera

Thanks again!

Reolink cameras are OK, I have two of them. They have one big problem though. If you try to sign in and forget your password, there is NO way to set a new password without resetting the camera itself. This is no good to me when I am away for months and can’t access the cameras. I don’t want to ask family to go climb a ladder to reset the camera for me and they would have to have the app to do so anyways. Every other company has a “forgot password” link where it’s simple to go and claim a new password. Not Reolink. Now I’m thousands of miles away and can’t access my cameras.

Temu makes a lot of claims. I’ll be curious what you receive and if it is in fact a genuine Wyze cam or not.

I would trust eBay before Temu and that is saying a lot.

Are you currently using a 25′ cable? If so, then I wonder if your main issues are power and Wi-Fi, possibly influenced by your weather conditions.

Cam OG Telephoto ships with a 6′ cable, and I’ve used third-party 10′ cables with a regular Cam OG and had good results with that, but I’ve not tried using that device outdoors with a longer cable. I don’t know what the maximum practically useful length is for a USB cable trying to power one of these with the standard 5V ⎓ 1A adapter (if that’s what you’re using), but adding length isn’t helpful, especially if the cable itself is thin. If your Cam OG Telephoto is trying to write to microSD at the same time it’s attempting to transmit an event recording to Wyze’s servers (and your image appears to be a capture from Web View playback that’s breaking up), then I wonder if the main issue really is power and if you’re supplying enough to the Cam with what you’re expecting it to do.

I was thinking that too but when they said “25ft adapter” I was thinking maybe the outdoor power plug, which has an AC section and DC section to add up to a longer length?

If @Brewskie is attempting 25 feet of USB that could certainly explain the problems. Not only will you probably need a larger power adapter to account for higher current from the voltage drop, but at some point the voltage is just too low no matter how big the adapter is. Thicker cables can help but technically 15 feet is the official limit of USB.

Could be, but that’s not how I interpreted it as even the newer “Universal” Outdoor Power Adapter specs shy of 20′. More detail from @Brewskie would be helpful, but for now I’m leaning toward a power and/or Wi-Fi signal issue, and the latter could be secondary to the former.

Yeah I think the new symptom with the glitchy image actually made it harder to narrow down rather than easier. Hopefully more info forthcoming.

It is possible if the cam has been running undervolted for a long time that the damage could be permanent, but hopefully that isn’t the case…

I will update here when I have set them up. I am as skeptical as one should be about this seller and I’ll be looking for authenticity.

If the OG cam started to have issues just around the time when there was fog or heavy rain while have it set to capture events and and having it continously record … then it burned out and can’t handle those two features are once anymore. Over 10 of my Wyze OG with and without telephoto in 3 different locations crapped out. These are cheap for a reason.

This “issue” only exists in your head. Please stop spreading baseless misinformation as it is not helping OP with their issue and is only confusing the matter.

We already know why your OGs are having an issue with recording to SD and uploading to Cam Plus at the same time, totally different issue and topic and nothing to do with rain or fog.

Naw…I bought one that is 25’ long. I’ll be returning it soon

This is what I bought.

It’s 25’ long but with a power adapter in the middle, but it’s not installed yet

Is it still good for the OG Telephoto?
