It be awesome to have a button that I can press to lock the door on my way out. I don’t necessarily want to enable auto-lock because it will lock out anyone else that isn’t in proximity to the door lock (on deck, working on the garden, etc.) and it’s sometimes inconvenient to have your phone with you.
Basically, you would open the door, press the button to auto-lock, then when the lock senses the door is closed, it will engage an auto-lock once to lock the door. It shouldn’t change any settings; it’s just a button that you can press on your way out to lock the door once. It should also give an alert stating that the door is indeed in the locked state.
Would this be for Lock, Lock Bolt, or both? I don’t have either product, but I see that both have an Auto-Lock feature, and I wonder if adding relevant tags to the topic would help improve its visibility and help other interested community members locate it in a search.
It’s for any of the door locks. The auto-lock feature isn’t a good solution with multiple people in a house. I don’t always want to lock the door after a certain amount of time, because someone might be in the garden or out back. The proximity auto-lock feature also isn’t a viable solution because the five people in my house all have mobile phones, and if at least one of them is in the house, then it won’t auto-lock the door anyway.
