Part for Battery Cam Pro

My Battery Cam Pro took a tumble and the little catch in the door broke off and got lost. The piece is held in place by a piece of plastic attached to the door with a couple of small screws so looks I should be able to take it off and just replace the catch piece. Any hope of getting a replacement piece?

Probably about as much hope as getting replacement ribbon cables. In your case, though, I wonder if the broken piece is something that could be fabricated on a 3D printer and, if the right materials are used, if it would be durable enough for your application.

I’d guess, though, that you may just need to find another means to keep the door closed if you want to continue using the Cam.

Thanks for the quick reply. It doesn’t sound like investing time and energy in trying to penetrate the customer service AI barrier that’s in place. Sounds like the practical options are to either MacGyver it or replace it.

I figured all the parts are at some random manufacturing plants in China and out of reach, That doesn’t either surprise or disappoint me as things like fiddly little plastic pieces are rarely available from consumer electronics manufacturers even for current products.

You’re welcome. I am curious about the possibility of 3D-printed options, because

can be fabricated pretty quickly if you have (or can create) an appropriate model and the equipment to do so. I remember when I was learning about this at classes from my local library, one of the examples they showed was a gear that a library patron had printed in order to replace a broken part on a robot vacuum.
