dave27, I was tight on time with the handyman. He had other appointment to get to before days end. Regretfully, I did not try the utility.
I used a brand new purple card, used the utility suggested to format, no combination of fixes will get the card to be recognized in the camera. Card is read and writes in my PC during testing. WYZE broke something. I am actually considering buying a new CamPan 3 and see if the SD card will work. 
This is the latest from WYZE support. I believe it indicates they KNOW there is a FW issue. I’m not sure I’d go try anther camera. Of if you do, and it works, CERTAINLY don’t upgrade it.

At the moment, we don’t have a specific turnaround time for when the new firmware will be available. I understand that having a timeline would be helpful, and I’m sorry that we’re unable to provide one at this time.
Please rest assured that our Engineering Team is already working on a fix. Once the new firmware is ready, it will be made available through the Wyze app.
