Pan cam keeps restarting every few minutes

Just installed my new Pan Cam today with WYZE 32 SD card. The camera restarts every few minutes. Does not seem to happen (last 30 minutes) with SD card removed. I was able to update to Firmware 4.10.5.111 without any problems. I will monitor a couple of hours, then retry inserting the SD card.

UPDATE: Pan Cam ran fine all night and into this morning. REINSTALLED the WYZE 32 SD Card and constant freezing and restarting of the CAM began again. I guess I will be contacting tech support tomorrow.

have you tried reformatting the sd card, maybe on a pc instead of in the cam?

Crazy thought. Go to App Store and elect for Beta app … then you’ll get the Beta firmware upgrade. Upgrade, power down, then power up with card.

As far as cards go, I’d not use a “Wyze” card (you KNOW it’s simply a rebranded cheapo card)… i use Sandisk Extreme 64 gb cards with ZERO issues. Walk into a Walmart and get them cheap and off the shelf.

Yes, a great idea. just need to purchase an adapter. SD card will not reformat from App.

Mine has been reformatted into the proper type even though it was already the proper type I reformatted anyway. No solution has worked. I gave up on having one thet works proper. I just made a motor that rotates and attaches the regular wyze cam to it

I had the same thing. Very annoying. I contacted Wyze support and we tried several things. What worked was to reinstall the firmware. Reinstall directions here

Now it has been several hours working without a glitch and is now recording video to my microSD card.
So perhaps something may have tweaked the firmware upgrade on their download site, or on download/installation…who knows, but the one I downloaded works like a champ. The ironic thing was… support suspected the microSD card but I tried 3 others and the same problem. Also the cam worked well without any SD card. The problem seemed to happened more frequently with the Wyze memory card.
Anyway… it is working like it is supposed to. Download the latest firmware, extract to a folder, copy the .bin file on the microSD card then follow the instructions. I hope this helps.

David. I did get the same suggestions from WYZE tech. but all I had at hand was the WYZE 32 microSD—no adapter. New microSDs with adapters in the mail today. Anyways, reformatting SDs did nothing. But, reuploading the firmware seems to have done the trick.

I’m trying this now. Either I messed up or it’s still not gonna work.
I Downloaded the file, extracted all, took the Demo bin file and drug it onto the sd card, plugged in the sd card, plugged in the power while holind the setup button. Light turned blue, it clicked and now it’s just been blinking for about 6 minutes or so.

Tried this Fix and now my Pan cam is bricked. Even when I take the SD card out it goes into the blinking blue light. These cameras are a nightmare. Wish Wyze would do something to fix them.

I take back my celebration! The problems started all over again. I’ve disabled the complete motion feature on that camera and that seems to have possibly made a difference. Only time will tell.

Hi Danielb. Did you unzip the file, rename the firmware file demo.bin, then
copy to your microSSD and install on your cam with the power off. Then hold down the setup button at the bottom… (make sure you feel a click and hold it) then plug in power and hold it for about 7 seconds then release the button. It should start to install the firmware and restart.

The continuous motion setting seems to be what was causing the constant resetting.

I still have the same issues. I gave up on the pan being able to record onto a card. I only use it as a cam to see live feds and catch the “events” that happen. The events vary from a cat coming into the frame nor the shifting of the sun. I use the regular wyze cam and built a rotating base for it. Its always panning but at least it records what’s going on without turning on and off
