I just brought my outdoor cam in to recharge. Before plugging it in, I moved the on/off switch on the back to Off and plugged it in. As I walked by, I got a motion notification. It turns out that the switch moves back and forth, but as long as the camera is on in the app, it’s operating. I can shut it off in the app, but I would think that if the physical switch were off, I wouldn’t be able to operate the camera at all via the app.
That’s definitely a bad switch. My outdoor cameras doesn’t function(except for the charging indicator light) when the switch is set to off. The real test is to see if you can view the livestream. If you can view the livestream or get motion event videos with the switch set to the Off position, You may want to contact Wyze Customer Support about this issue!

I have the same issue, but on top of the switch not working this one got humidity inside and I get a very foggy view, and the battery is draining extremely fast, like in less than 24hrs. I already asked for a replacement that is supposed to arrive soon. I love all products from Wyze except for this one. This is my second return because of humidity damage. Meanwhile, I have an original v2 I got in 2018, installed outside since I got it working flawlessly. Wyze Outdoor Cams should be recalled for what I see. Sorry Wyze, I love the products, but this one needs to go.
