Outdoor Cam Ethernet

Must the base station always be attached to the network by ethernet cable?

Yes

If you want your outdoor camera(s) to be readily accessible.

Hi @shandelsman and welcome to the community!

You could use a WiFi extender with an ethernet port. There are suggestions in other threads you can find using the magnifying glass search icon, located upper right.

e.g. TP-Link N300 WiFi Extender for about $20 on Amazon.

Sure, people could do that, but, that is another added expense, and now, the cam ends up being much more expensive than it originally was.

I agree. It seems a shame the WOC & Base didn’t perform with anything close to the expected 300’ range.

One of mine I have running about 70-80 feet away from base station that is protected from weather but outside, 2 out of 3 bars on signal. Power drops 1% per day. On average 5-15 events a day.
