Outage today 10/7/2022

I have about 20 lights that were not responding through Amazon Echo for ~half an hour today, but seem ok now. The cameras worked during this time. It seems I am not alone. My questions are:

What happened?

Why can’t Wyze proactively alert users about problems like this?

It really frustrates me to look at the Wyze service status page and see no known issues, but then search the internet and find things like:
