On a Mac - Video Playback and Editing

I recently purchased on Amazon: Satechi Aluminum Type-C Clamp Hub Pro with USB-C Data Port, 3 USB 3.0, Micro/SD Card Reader for 2017 iMac and iMac Pro (Silver).

This allows a number of features for USB and SD connections to the iMac. It works as advertised and I recommend.

One of the first things I did was flash the memory on a “bricked” V2 camera (solid Yellow Light). Following the instructions posted here. That went well and “unBricked” the Camera. Now I and trying to work on viewing and editing the continuously recorded video. All my cameras (1V1, 2V2, and 2Pan) have SD chips.

I am looking for recommendations for low to medium cost video editing software for the iMac that will function with the recorded files on the SD cards.

Any help would be appreciated - TIA.

Thanks for the info on VLC - I’ll give a try.

VLC Media Player is pretty capable and free.

MPEG Streamclip, also free. You can even save a single frame.
