Older cameras got crappier?

I have a mix of cameras—some v2s, a v3, a v4, a Cam Pan, and a doorbell. Did Wyze [degrade] the v2 for some reason? Because now the image is all grainy. The v3, v4, Pan and doorbell are all the same as before.

Tried both Apple and Android—same graininess on both.

ETA: the grainy cams were all previously updated to the last-available firmware.

Maybe, wear and tear? :man_shrugging:

lolwut?

I’m just saying considering the V2 is an old camera and at Wyze’s price point maybe it reached i’s useful life limit. No disrespect meant.

Also, it could be a firmware issue, has happened in the past. Wyze is known to break things once in a while or take away features.

Here are a couple of things to try.

  1. Manually flash the cameras back an older camera firmware version. Wyze has v2 firmware available going back to 2023. You could see if older firmware will give you back the clarity you had.

  1. If you are up to it, you can try swapping the lens for a newer lens. This video shows how to swap a v3 lens.

Might try downdating firmware, but I highly doubt there’s a lens issue unless Wyze uses lenses that disintegrate.
